NEGLIGENCE CASE

NEGLIGENCE CASE

Negligence case against a company and one of its workers who crashed head-on into our client, causing serious physical injury and emotional distress.

$30 MILLION SETTLEMENT

One medical malpractice case resulted in the discovery of dozens of patients who suffered needless and unindicated joint replacement surgeries at the hands of a surgeon and hospital system that elevated profits over patient safety.

$23.5 Million Verdict

In this dangerous condition of public property case our clients suffered the devastating loss of their loved ones and catastrophic personal injuries. Prior to trial, our team also collected $5 million in insurance policy limits of the adverse driver and proceeded to trial against the State of California. This verdict was one of the Top 100 civil verdicts in America and a Top 10 verdict in California.

$14.5 MILLION SETTLEMENT

Our client was providing construction related services in a building in downtown San Diego. The Defendant failed to provide properly odorized natural gas to the building resulting in a massive explosion. Our client suffered third-degree burns to his face, head, arms, hands and upper body. The explosion occurred when a large amount of natural gas escaped into the building and since it was not odorized properly it accumulated undetected until presumably an electrical spark set it off.

$6.25 MILLION SETTLEMENT

Our client was seriously injured when a vehicle driven by an employee of Halliburton Energy Corp., lost control on the I-5 freeway, entered the shoulder of the roadway and was launched over the center divider by a berm of earth created and maintained by co-defendant State of California. The Halliburton vehicle crashed head-on into the van our client was traveling in. He suffered serious personal injuries, including a traumatic brain injury.

$5.6 MILLION VERDICT

Our client was traveling to work along a rural two-lane road when the defendant’s vehicle came across the centerline and collided head-on. The collision was caused by the State of California’s failure to properly maintain the edge of pavement resulting in a preventable collision. This verdict was on the Top 50 personal injury verdicts in California and one of the Top 100 motor vehicle collision verdicts in America.

$5 MILLION SETTLEMENT

A poorly maintained scaffold on a construction site gave way resulting in our client falling nearly 30 feet and crushing his lower extremities on the concrete below. We were able to recover a policy limits settlement from the offending subcontractor.

$4.25 MILLION SETTLEMENT

In an unwitnessed hit and run collision the defendant driver never actually made contact with our clients vehicle. Our team’s investigation uncovered that the defendant, while only maintaining minimal insurance, was technically “on the clock” when he caused the collision that resulted in two deaths. We were able to hold his employer responsible for the devastating losses he caused.

$3.25 MILLION SETTLEMENT

Our client was admitted to the emergency department for neck pain and kept overnight for observation. The defendant’s respiratory therapist failed to provide our client with the CPAP machine he needed at night and as a result of being dosed with respiratory-suppressing narcotics he coded and suffered an anoxic brain injury.

$2.59 MILLION SETTLEMENT

One defendant backed his car out of his driveway into traffic causing a Winnebago driven by another defendant to swerve into oncoming traffic and ram our client’s car. Our client and his family were returning from Thanksgiving vacation at the time of the accident. Injuries included closed head trauma and permanent disability.

$2.25 MILLION SETTLEMENT

When a metal door came loose from the soda dispenser of a local fast food restaurant striking our client on the head she suffered a serious brain injury.

$1.2 MILLION VERDICT

We represented a disabled young woman injured at her public school. Along with our co-counsel in this complex Disabled Persons Act and dangerous condition trial we obtained one of the largest statutory penalty verdicts for a disabled person in California history. After compensation for her injuries, penalties, attorney’s fees and costs resulted in a judgement in excess of $1.2 million.

$925,000 SETTLEMENT

In this medical malpractice case we were able to hold a urologic surgeon responsible for the harm caused to our client who suffered a disabling chronic pain condition.

$650,000 VERDICT

A $350 carpet cleaning resulted in toxic chemical exposure to our clients who were forced to spend over $200,000 repairing their home and suffering from medical complications for the following two years. This verdict was one of the Top 100 Personal Injury and Top 3 Toxic Tort verdicts in California.
