Alex De Arana-Lemich graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a B.A. in both History and in Politics. During his time at UCSC, Alex interned with the House of Representatives in the Appropriations Committee in Washington D.C. After completing his undergraduate studies, Alex returned to his hometown where he worked at the City of Ventura alongside the City Manager.
Alex later attended California Western School of Law where he was awarded twice as a student of distinction. Alex received awards for pro-bono and public service in addition to being recognized for academic achievement in Land Use Regulation. During law school he was President of the American Constitution Society and was named a 2016 American Constitution Society Next Generation leader. During his time at California Western he worked in various legal settings helping clients with trust and estate matters, working for local government to improve communities, and in the San Diego Superior Court helping to ensure justice.
Alex’s career as an attorney started when he began working on wildfire litigation cases; helping wildfire victims recover for their lost homes, personal property and wildfire experiences. As a native of Ventura, Alex is driven to help his neighbors and friends recover from tragedies as well as other families and individuals up and down the state.
In his free time, Alex enjoys indulging his passion for history by traveling, visiting historical sites or walking with his dog. Alex also likes to take the time to visit family and friends whenever possible throughout California and beyond. Alex is an active member of the American Constitution Society where he serves on the Executive Board of the At-Large Chapter. Alex is also a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the Ventura County Bar Association. Alex is admitted to practice in California state courts.
